Born and raised in the Parisian suburbs, I [Baba] grew up immersed in hip-hop culture working in shops like Astoria and DJing in underground scenes. Early on, I dreamed of building something that would reflect not just the music and fashion I loved, but the values I carried within.

Inspired by the raw energy and style of the streets I grew up in, and by the rappers of my generation, I kept a close eye on the way high fashion started borrowing codes from the street. I asked myself: Why not do the opposite? Why not use my street-rooted background to create a brand with the standards and presence of high-end fashion but born from real life?

Years ago, I launched a brand called “I Am the Street Dream.” It resonated with people. But with youth, bad timing, and the wrong environment, the project came to an end.

Now, after years of growth, I find myself in Sweden. A new culture, a new life but the same fire to create. Living here made it clear how little I felt represented in the fashion around me. That frustration became fuel.

At 40, a father of three, the dream never left. Today, I choose to bring it back with the help of my wife, stronger, clearer, and more meaningful.

Le Gatan is more than a clothing line. It’s a reflection of resilience, culture, faith, and identity. A street-born vision with high standards. A tribute to the people and places that shaped us.
